SUE Gerrard, the Star's very own writer, certainly has a winning way with words as her latest collection of poetry 'A Round Of Mixed Fortunes' is being published this week.
This collection of contemporary poems will be on sale at Wardleworths Bookshop, Westfield Street and Sue will be there this Saturday, April 8, from 11.30am to 12.30pm to sign copies of the book.
This is Sue's fourth collection of poetry and she is hoping that it will do as well as her last book, 'With These Words', which ran to a second printing.
Sue has had poems published in more than 40 national anthologies, and has won three national poetry competitions and been placed in 12 more, while her work is regularly featured on Radio Merseyside.
The publication of 'A Round of Mixed Fortunes' is complemented by the latest exhibition 'Images and Imaginings' by The Poet and The Painter, Sue and artist friend, Carol Anne Eaves. This is their 26th exhibition and it is at Silhouette Dance Club, Boundary Road from Monday, April 10 to Friday, May 19 prior to their exhibition at The Hanover Gallery, Liverpool in the autumn.
Sue has also read her own work at venues such as The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Bolton Festival and The Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester.
