A LANCASHIRE environmental organisation has expressed concerns about the tiny amounts of recycling carried out in Britain.
Friends of the Earth have invited anyone in the Blackburn, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley areas to discuss the present position and plans for the future at a special meeting called 'Talk Rubbish' at Whalley Village Hall on Wednesday.
Local FoE spokesman David Mortimer, said: " We seem to be producing more and more rubbish every year, but are recycling tiny amounts compared to most European countries."
Stuart Hammond, the Recycling Officer for Blackburn with Darwen Council and Sue Procter of Lancashire County Council Waste Management Group will be the main speakers at the event.
