BUSINESSMAN Ian Olerenshaw (pictured) is enjoying a fairytale success -- making hand-made carpets based on nursery rhymes.
His business, Reedley Carpets, based at Friendship Mill, Read, has branched out into creating personalised carpets which include a customer's own name or design.
That can include anything from a favourite nursery rhyme character for a child's bedroom or a company logo for a reception area.
"I can't just remember what gave me the idea," admitted Ian, who runs the small business with wife Ann. "My daughter Catherine asked if I could do a carpet with her name in it and it just took off from there.
"We form the design out of different pieces of carpet and then put it together like a jigsaw before sending elsewhere to be backed.
"It's a big sense of achievement when it's all put together and laid down. We're giving customers what they want and then a bit more as well.
"It's really taking off now although because we're a small two-man business we can't really handle a lot of orders."
