HASLINGDEN assault victim Daniel Delaney, who lost the sight in his left eye, has undergone another operation.
Daniel, 12, of Manchester Road, is now awaiting the results of the surgery and is expected to remain in hospital in Manchester for at least one more week.
Witnesses have told police that the Haslingden High School pupil was hit in the face with plastic piping by two other boys in Bury Road, Haslingden.
Detective Inspector Simon Leach said: "Danny has been transferred to Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and his family are in fairly good spirits considering the nature of the injury.
"Two boys that came forward last week have been interviewed and have been released on bail for a couple of weeks. We still have not been able to get a full account from Danny but a few more witnesses have come forward and I am fairly satisfied with the inquiries."
