IT'S very easy to dismiss the Chuckle Brothers as kids clowns only fit for tots TV, writes Peter McLean.
But at Blackpool Grand Theatre on Friday (March 31) they showed a packed audience how entertainment should be done.
With military precision the brothers Chuckle had children screaming with laughter and adults howling with mirth with just one over-sized jumper, a pile of pies (custard of course) and an audience who didn't mind getting a little bit wet -- this reporter even got a pie in his face!
With a relentless pace the team raced through sketch after sketch with collapsing beds, escaped gorillas and malfunctioning sausage machines ensuring the children -- of which hundreds had turned up to see their slapstick superstars -- never got bored.
Sadly, new three piece girl band Bonnie performing cover versions of B*Witched and Steps between scenes could only keep the children quiet for so long.
But besides this minor flaw rest assured this was two hours of top class japery for children and adults alike.
