BIRTHDAY boy Sir Tom Finney had just one wish when he blew out the candles on his cake -- to see his beloved North End back in Division One.
PNE's most famous player, pictured, celebrated his 78th birthday at home in Fulwood yesterday (Wednesday), and was still talking about Tuesday's 1-0 win for North End over Wigan.
After being presented with a birthday cake from the Citizen, Sir Tom who is the football club's president, told of his birthday wish: "I want North End to go up. They are in an excellent position and can afford to lose a couple of games, although we don't want them to.
"I don't think I could bear the agony of the play-offs again!"
