THE University of Central Lancashire has invited a law expert from Oxford to launch the Lancashire Law School.

Professor Andrew Ashworth, Vinerian Professor of England Law at All Souls College, Oxford, will be guest speaker at a public lecture called 'Criminal Justice 25 years on -- Issues for the Next 25', and will lead a celebration marking 25 years of Legal Education.

The Law School is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the admission of its first undergraduate students in 1975.

It now has almost 1,000 students and 40 highly-qualified academic staff.

Head of School, Professor Richard Taylor, said: "The Law School has come a long way in 25 years and is proud to play a central role in the provision of legal education both nationally and in the region."
