LEISURE chiefs have received an award after they put on playschemes for Hyndburn children.
Hyndburn Council, which has provided play activities throughout school breaks, has been awarded a regional best practice award by the Institute of Leisure and Amenity Management.
The council involves parents, schools and other bodies in running their ACCESS (All Children's Care Entertainment and Sport Sessions) scheme.
Leisure services chairman Coun Brian Walmsley, said: "It is brilliant that this project has gained such a prestigious award. The scheme pools resources from many partner agencies, parents, carers and children."
The Mayor of Hyndburn, Coun Bernard Dawson, handed the award to chief leisure services officer Steve Tanti.
