A BLACKPOOL school has grabbed a "PC" of the action after winning a computer in the Tesco Computers for Schools competition.
The celebrate the ninth year of the competition, which is sponsored by the Daily Telegraph, they ran a free prize draw for readers to win one of 60 computers for a school of their choice.
And Elsa Smith, pictured far right, from Poulton - whose daughter Rachel is a pupil at Elmslie Girls' school - has won the draw and scooped the top prize for the school.
Along with one of 60 personal computers she also bagged a family ticket for the millennium dome.
Steve Earnshaw, IT co-ordinator at Elmslie, said they have claimed an assortment of goods since they first got involved with the Computers for School in 1995, including a digital camera last year, by collecting tokens which can later be exchanged for equipment. He said: "We have around 250 pupils and have recently been expanding our internet access to enable all our students to make use of the world wide web."
In a special presentation at the Blackpool Clifton Tesco store the computer was handed over to pupils by manager Bob Eddison, also pictured.
Steve Earnshaw explained the computer is now fully up and running in the library as part of the multi-media centre.
"It's the fastest machine we have so far which is why we put it in the library for all to use, as opposed to an office where it would be hard to access. So far it has proved very popular and is being used to further develop our website."
