I AM adisabled OAP, my pension, including SERPS, has increased by £1.19 per week.
My council tax (75 per cent) Band D is up 75p per week, meals on wheels by 35p, home care for two visits by 20p and my alarm button by 6p a week. Total increase £1.38. I therefore have minus 19p to pay other rises that are demanded.
I do not plead poverty, but if the council carry on like this I, and many others, will be more and more hard-up. Please can we have fair play for OAPs.
Council charges and tax should be limited to inflation like our pensions. If they need to economise why not cut councillors' expenses?
