BRIG chairman Dennis Allen watched his players at both ends of 5-0 drubbings last week.
The win against Leek Town gave Bamber Bridge 45 points in the league -- a figure which manager Tony Greenwood believes will keep his side in the UniBond Premiership.
And the loss came as Marine embarrassed the Irongate outfit in the final of the Lancashire FA Marsden Trophy.
Dennis said: "The final was absolutely awful. We had a very bad first half in which Marine had four shots -- and scored four goals.
"I have never seen our defence play like that. They thought the ball was going over or wide, but it kept going in.
"Someone said to me that we know what Leek felt like now! "I certainly hope that we are safe in the league now. It's getting better but we aren't safe mathematically yet.
"I hope we can bounce back. It was a bit of a mauling. It's up to Tony now to get the lads back to winning ways.
"Apart from the final, we have had a very good month. I don't believe Tony will let the lads get too down in the dumps."
Loan striker Lee Trundle shone in the Leek Town win, opening the scoring, and impressing his manager and chairman in the process.
Dennis added: "One of the biggest differences in the Marine match was the absence of Trundle.
"In the Leek match, he held the front line up well and gave Andy Whittaker some space to move around.
"The side seems to work very well when he is in it. Against Marine, we missed him -- he's a good footballer."
Brig visit West Yorkshire on Saturday to take on Frickley Athletic. Frickley are just five points ahead and a win would go a long way to ensuring Premiership survival.
