BURGER giant McDonald's has applied for planning permission to build a drive-through restaurant in Colne.
The plan is part of the shops and business complex on the former Stonebridge Mill site off North Valley Road.
Plans for the restaurant have been submitted to Pendle Council. The scheme is set to be discussed by the authority's Colne area committee on May 11.
McDonald's sparked a major row when it tried, and failed, to get permission to build a drive-through in nearby Crown Way. Residents and councillors campaigned to stop the scheme because of fears of noise and traffic problems. The new site is expected to be more acceptable.
