WORK has continued all week to prepare the Harris Museum and Art Gallery for its biggest ever exhibition.

Give and Take will take up almost all of the top floor of the building, filling seven galleries with works of contemporary fine art.

The exhibition includes work by some of the most important contemporary artists, including Turner Prize Winners and nominees Chris Ofili, Rachel Whiteread, Cornelia Parker and Christine Borland.

Preston solicitor Peter Rickson & Partners have sponsored the event.

Peter Rickson said: "It is extremely exciting for us to be able to support an exhibition of this scale.

"Contemporary art is becoming more and more popular and we hope that by supporting this free exhibition, we are giving something valuable back to both local people and our clients."

The exhibition opens today (Thursday) and runs until June 3, from Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
