Morecambe 5, Northwich 0
MORECAMBE are finishing the season on a real high and last nights 5-0 thrashing of Northwich saw them creeping up the league table.
Although Northwich got off to a flying start with Darren Vicary heading the ball into Andy Banks's arms and not the net, swiftly followed by a cunning shot from Mark Devlin after 15 minutes.
Morecambe have not lost a game for 10 matches, and tightened their ranks. Greg Brown had an unlucky miss, but continued putting on the pressure, his strategy was recompensed after 29 minutes as he placed a superb ball in front of Jackson which led to the first goal of the match. Morecambe were getting into their stride and two minutes before half time, John Norman produced a superb curling goal.
Not content with two goals, the Shrimps came back fighting. Jackson showed his superb passing skills as he set up Garry Thompson with a clear cross taking Morecambe 3-0 up after 10 minutes.
Stewart Drummond decided to have a piece of the action five minutes later by hammering home a magnificent shot leaving Northwich wondering what had hit them, and sorely missing their indispensable players, Steve Walters and Val Owen.
Not content with the score line, in the last minute Jackson saw an opening, which he tucked neatly into a welcoming net.
