DARWEN police are appealing for help to track down the person who shattered the jaw of a 20-year-old man.
The attack happened at about 11pm on Friday April 7. A group of about 30 youths were socialising at the top of Snape Street.
The victim walked away from the gang after a dispute. A few minutes later was hit in the face with a mystery object, or possibly a fist.
PC Stuart Banks of Darwen police said: "This young man suffered serious injuries. He was hit at such force that his jaw was shattered.
"We want to hear from anybody who was in the area at the time or who knows anything about the incident."
Darwen police can be contacted on 01254 701777.
