GREEN-fingered members of Rawtenstall Civic Society are busy getting the gardens of one of the town's tourist attractions in tip top shape for Easter.
Charles Ashmore, chairman and members Brian Gilbert and Ian and Kathy Fishwick, worked in heavy rain at the start of their programme to tidy the grounds of the Weaver's' Cottage, which will be open to the public over the holiday.
Ian said: "We're cutting back the heavier undergrowth and improving the flower beds to make it look a lot better. There is too much greenery and not enough colour, so we're going to rectify that."
Kathy said: "Instead of sitting and moaning about the state of the garden, we're doing something about it."
After the Easter opening, the cottage, which shows how life was during the days of home weaving, will be open to the public every Saturday and Sunday between 2pm and 5pm until September.
