EX-ROVERS player Matty Holmes has had to call it a day through injury.
Holmes, 30, moved to Ewood from West Ham in the wake of Rovers' championship success but, for one reason or another, including injury problems, never really made an impact.
In the past three years, since his £250,000 move to Charlton, he has made only 19 appearances before being beaten by an ankle injury.
Rovers Reserves take on Sunderland at Ewood tonight and are set to give Lee Carsley another taste of match action as he continues his return from long-term injury.
Billy McKinlay is also set to be involved again with the squad: Miller, Grayson, Murphy, Carsley, Peacock, Hawe, Gillespie, Johnson, Richards, Hamilton, Jansen, McKinlay, Baldacchino, D Dunning, Howson, Bingham.
Christian Dailly and Callum Davidson are the latest Rovers players to have their international commitments confirmed for next week.
Both Ewood defenders have been included in Craig Brown's Scotland squad for the game against Holland in Arnhem next Wednesday. Meanwhile, Damien Johnson and Keith Gillespie are included in the Northern Ireland squad to play Hungary at Windsor Park also on Wednesday.
