THE Clarets' management and players are calling on their fans to get behind them again tonight as promotion fever grips Turf Moor.
A crowd of up to15,000 -- which would be the third biggest gate of the season -- is expected for the clash with Gillingham when a win for Burnley would take them to second place in the table with another big home game to come against Millwall on Saturday.
"It's very important to have home advantage and to have the supporters behind us because they are an integral part of our team," said manager Stan Ternent.
"They are of a mega-importance to us and they can have an affect on the players. And they have been fantastic this season.
"I think the supporters, after what the club has been through in recent seasons, would like to get back up to the First Division.
"But there are seven other teams with the same ambition, and Gillingham are one of them. So we have to be mentally and physically strong and be able to handle the situation and play."
In-form midfield man Lenny Johnrose added: "We are urging the supporters to urge us on and turn up in great numbers which they have done all season. They can be a big factor."
Supporters were queuing from just after eight o'clock this morning to snap up tickets for the bumber double-header which could see the Clarets steal a decisive march in the promotion race.
