A CLEAN-UP put the finishing touches to an area recently transformed with £120,000 of environmental works.
Land at Shorey Bank, Darwen, has benefited from refurbished footpaths, trees and benches and repairs to the bridge. Funded by Blackburn with Darwen Council's Single Regeneration Budget, it was carried out by the Groundwork Trust and the Darwen River Valley Initiative.
Guides Helen Dawson and Kailey Royds (front) joined the council, Darwen River Valley Initiative and the Tidy Britain Group to clean the river.
