THEY came, they saw - and they learned.
More than 30 pupils in year four at Wensley Fold primary school got to grips with the world of newspapers during a fact finding visit to our head office and printing plant.
"It was very exciting, because I hadn't seen a newspaper printed before," said nine-year-old Becky Garswood, while Liam Eshghi, aged eight, was amazed at how busy everyone was.
Youngsters from the Blackburn school, pictured with page editor John Turner, were given an introductory talk, followed by a tour of our advertising, editorial and printing departments and a chance to try writing their own reports, as an extension of their Newspapers in Education project going on in class.
The school is currently using our Pick and Mix newspaper based literacy and numeracy resource to boost basic skills at the same time as learning about their local area.
