FLORENCE Nutter enjoyed a piece of good luck when she became the 2,000th member of Hospice Care for Burnley and Pendle's lottery draw.
Florence is hoping her numbers come up when the draw starts on May 12 but in the meantime she can enjoy a bouquet of flowers presented to her by Burndle the Bear, the draw's mascot.
Burndle visited her home in Ridge Avenue, Burnley, yesterday to present Florence with the flowers donated by Nelson florists Going Dutch and a framed letter of membership donated by art shop Montage, also of Nelson.
"I think the draw is a really worthwhile thing to be in because the hospice does such good work," said Florence, a retired civil servant. "I think everyone should join." Draw organisers were celebrating the fact they have reached the 2000th member milestone ahead of schedule.
Lottery manager Harry Grayson said: "Membership is growing steadily thanks to the generosity and support of the people of Burnley and Pendle."
