ANGLERS helped boost fish stocks in Rishton Reservoir.
The Hyndburn and Blackburn Angling Association netted 77 common and mirror carp at the Blue Slate fishery near Samlesbury and transferred them into the reservoir.
The fish had outgrown the fishery and if the club had not bought them, many might have died in time.
In the last year the angling club has added more than 9,000 fish to the area's waterways, including 2,800 in the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
The club also undertakes regular environmental clean-ups and works to improve the quality of fishing areas for anglers.
