FRENCH police are preparing to visit East Lancashire later this month as part of their investigation into the disappearance of former Darwen women Evelyn Lund.
The 53-year-old lived at a farm in Winter Hill before moving to France six years ago to start a new life with her second husband, Robert, 48, and her animals.
A major police operation was launched after the mother-of-three and her Toyota Landcruiser went missing on December 29.
Mr Lund, who was once a tree inspection officer for Blackburn Council, was questioned by French police for 24 hours. The couple's converted barn near Montpellier and the surrounding countryside have been searched. Authorities in Spain have been alerted and posters with Mrs Lund's details have been circulated across France.
One of Mrs Lund's daughters, Patricia Taylor, of Franklin Road, Witton, Blackburn, said: "We are convinced she has been murdered. We have given French police a list of everybody who might be able to help in Britain. Officers are waiting for the paperwork for their visit to be sorted out. It will probably be the end of the month before they get here."
