WHILE I agree that some are genuine asylum seekers, there are many who are bogus and although the genuine ones ought to be allowed to stay, all the bogus ones should be sent back.
The ruling Labour group in Blackburn has said that these people will be housed in three-bedroom houses and that the Government is paying £450,000 to help accommodate them.
There are also more than 200 Kosovars in the former old people's homes in Blackburn, some of whom are also seeking asylum in England. So the money from the Government will not last very long.
I wonder whether when this money has been spent on doing up these houses and furnishing them, will the taxpayer have to help to foot the bill?
L BURROWS (Mr), Bonsall Street, Mill Hill, Blackburn.
