ALL this fuss about losing the European funding for Burnley and other areas of East Lancashire just shows how stupid we are to rely on the supposed largesse handed out by the Brussels' bureaucrats.
Plus all the fuss over areas drawn on maps, applying for these grants. Let's not forget, this is our own money. It doesn't belong to Europe.
And, worse still, they only give us part of it back -- for every £1 received on a Euro-grant, we have already paid in about £1.50.
The answer is quite simple. Let's not give Brussels a penny and keep it all to ourselves.
The Institute of Directors recently worked out that it was costing every man, woman and child £5 per week, and if we withdrew from the EU we would not need to have the 'begging bowl' dashed from our hands by Brussels and there would be plenty of funds available for deprived areas.
