CHANTING poll-tax protesters invaded Blackburn Council and brought proceedings to a halt for an hour.
One hundred people led by the Blackburn Anti-Poll Tax Union refused to leave the town hall meeting, demanding legal immunity for people who refuse to pay their poll tax.
They jeered and booed councillors and catcalls rang out when Labour politicians refused to sign a petition.
