MUM knows best -- and that's a phrase one Darwen woman had best get used to being told.
For new mum Kimberley Turnball, of Dove lane, can expect plenty of maternal advice in weeks to come -- not just from her mother, but her grandmother and great grandmother too.
For the birth of 7lb Jake Cooper not only meant a new challenge for the 20-year-old -- it also heralded the arrival of the family's fifth generation.
Tracey Sutton's grandmother, and Jake's great-grandmother, Valerie Pocock, said: "We are over the moon because we now have five generations of our family still alive."
Heading up the family is Edith Hardwick, 85, who now boasts of being a great great grandmother.
Her daughter is 57-year-old Valerie, who is the mother of Tracey Sutton.
At 35, she can now boast to being both grandma and granddaughter after her daughter following the birth of her first grandchild.
Valerie added: "The best thing is we are still a very close family."
