Vine 30 Haydock A 21 VINE completed a league double over their local rivals and champions-elect Haydock to clinch promotion from Division Five.
The home side led 22-11 at the break with tries by Steve Kilgannon, Paul Marsh and Mark Pickering (2), plus three goals by Mike Haslem.
Haydock hit back in the second half but Vine finished the stronger, completing their victory with a third touchdown by Pickering and two further goals by man-of-the-match Haslem.
Also outstanding for Vine were brothers Danny and Doug Whittle.
