FOR some years now I have become more and more bemused and bewildered by the behaviour and antics of the Liberal Democrat councillors both at city and county council levels.
Their somewhat spasmodic attendance at some county council committee meetings and their desire to pursue irrelevant matters in debate when there, have indeed set them out as being "somewhat different" to the run of councillors of other parties who attend regularly, highlight local problems and take notice of, and fight for, the people they represent.
I am therefore greatly enlightened to read the reported words of city and county councillor Mrs Pat Quinton namely: "I was elected on a Lib-Dem ticket - not to represent local people" - talk about "out of the mouths of babes" (some babe: some admission!)
I now call on her to have the courage of her political convictions and print those words as a "health warning" on all her election literature and on the copies of the "Focus" tracts which she distributes.
