Vulcan 35 VULCAN rediscovered their winning touch on Saturday.
Within minutes they opened up the scoring as Smith went in under the sticks, Holland adding the extras.
Just as Vulcan thought this would be easy the opposition posted a try and made a fight of it.
However, two tries before the break gave Vulcan ample breathing room.
The second half was similar to the first as Smith scored after good work from Rigby and Merdith, but with the opposition hunting for points Vulcan needed strong pack work through out and Brown, Duffy and Boughey provided it. With Vulcan on the back foot for ten minutes last ditch tackles from the likes of Evans and F. Healey kept them out.
With just minutes to go scrum half Meredith grabbeded a solo try from 40 yards out, Holland slotted over the his fifth goal of he day.
Man of the Match was Smith. This weekend Vulcan meet Eccles.
