PROMOTION could be secured in front of North End's home fans if they beat Scunthorpe on Saturday.
Following Saturday's excellent win at Bristol Rovers, many would assume a win over relegation-threatened Scunthorpe would be a mere formality.
But teams like Colchester and Cardiff have proved that the lower teams are no pushover -- especially when they need the points to survive in Division Two.
Scunthorpe are just one point off safety at the moment, thanks to last weekend's win at Blackpool. And North had better keep a close eye on Gary Bull, who will be hoping to score the second goal of his Bootham Crescent career at Deepdale.
But David Moyes's side aren't without their injury worries, with Tepi Moilanen struggling to overcome a shoulder injury.
Steve Basham is also doubtful with his dead leg, while Dominic Ludden still isn't back in contention. It is quite possible that if promotion is won on Saturday, David Moyes may decide to rest Sean Gregan until the end of the season, ensuring he is fully fit for next year.
