CARMEL College played host to a special guest when the Government's Chief Inspector of Schools, Chris Woodhead, paid a visit to the Prescot Road site.
Mr Woodhead and his OFSTED team will soon be responsible for inspecting all sixth-form colleges and officials at Carmel -- one of only 10 colleges in the country with recognised Beacon status -- took the opportunity to demonstrate what they have achieved in the past few years.
Principal Peter Rushton, said: "We were delighted to welcome the Chief Inspector here and we took the opportunity to discuss withh im the benefits for sixth-form colleges' robust self-assessment and high standards for students. We hope that the transition to OFSTED will build upon the many strengths of the sixth form college sector.
