EVELYN County Primary School in Prescot has received praise from OFSTED inspectors for its commitment to education and high standards of performance.
Inspectors commented favourably on the quality of the teaching throughout the whole school. Standards overall were found to be good to very good. Pupils were found to have very good attitudes to the school, good attendance and behaviour.
The school was also praised for its policy of rewarding achievement and maintaining discipline and promoting good attendance.
The headteacher and deputy head were found to be strong, effective leaders with a good team spirit and shared commitment throughout the school.
Headteacher, Carole Arnold, said: "This excellent report pays tribute to the enthusiasm and dedication of children, staff, parents and governors. Only a real team effort could provide such high standards and everyone is to be congratulated."
