TECHNICAL expert Bob Beaumont has bowed out of his job after almost 30 years with textiles group Gaskell PLC.
Bob, 62, from Great Harwood, spent 26 years working for Gaskell Textiles at Rhoden Mill, Oswaldtwistle, before moving to Gaskell Carpets in Rishton, where he became production director.
His final achievement for Gaskell was overseeing the set-up of a new high-speed Griffiths loom at the Rishton site.
About 150 employees watched Bob receive a retirement presentation from Ted Andrews, chairman of Gaskell PLC. Personnel manager Jenny Tomlin said: "Bob is wonderful with machinery and he is very well respected. He has a gentle way of dealing with people which helped him deal with union negotiations as well as technical things. He is a thoroughly decent chap who really will be missed."
