A BENEFIT concert raised more than £700 for two women who were injured in a horrific dog attack.
Lois Jackson, 69, had her foot and part of her lower leg amputated after a Staffordshire-cross terrier turned on her and its owner Bernadette Thompson. Mrs Thompson, 52, of Selkirk Close, Blackburn, was visiting her friend in Laxey Road, Blackburn, when the attack occurred last year. The animal had its jaws clamped on Mrs Thompson's leg for about 10 minutes.
The benefit concert to raise money for the women was held at Longshaw Working Men's Club, Blackburn and was organised by Carole Davis, co-ordinator of the local neighbourhood watch scheme.
