MORE than 50 members of Hyndburn churches took part in the annual "Station of the Cross" service.
Pupils from St Christopher's CE High School, Accrington, also took part in the procession from Avenue Parade to the top of Accrington Coppice, where the service was held.
They carried crosses, bearing messages such as "Jesus carries the cross" and "Jesus grants forgiveness", and also read passages from the Bible.
