ROYAL Marines new recruit Chris Heys is set to relive the trials and tribulations of making it to the passing out parade -- on television.
Chris, 22, from Accrington, is one of some 22 new recruits who had the cameras tracking them throughout his training programme for the Marines.
Only 11 of the recruits made it to the passing out parade at the first attempt -- including Chris. His 30 weeks at Lympston, in Devon, were all caught on camera by London Weekend Television, who will screen their fly-on-the-wall documentary in June as part of the Real Life series.
The programme will follow the trials and tribulations of new recruits like Chris, a former Hollins High School pupil, as they undergo the rigorous training which will help make -- or break -- their Navy careers.
And his friends and family, including mum Marion, can't wait to see what Chris really went through to earn his green beret.
She said: "He has wanted to join for a long time now and we are all interested in what he has had to do over the last 30 weeks.
"It is obviously hard work to make it through because so many people dropped out.
"We are very proud of him and can't wait to see the show."
