AN association which represents car repairers has won an award off its landlord.
The Motor Vehicle Repair Association has been awarded the Business of the Month accolade by IMEX which runs the Glenfield Park estate in Blackburn where it is based
MVRA was set by by Mike Moygnahan in 1988 after he became frustrated by the lack of restrictions in the industry.
"Anybody could open up a body repair or mechanical repair centre," he explained.
Out of its 60 strong workforce the MVRA now has 12 inspectors who visit members on a regular basis to assess work and works in conjunction with major insurance companies and the police.
"This is a fine example of entrepreneurialism at its best," said Bob Chapman managing director of IMEX.
"Companies such as MVRA are a driving force for the local economy."
