A DISABLED woman claims she is "fighting a losing battle" with the council to get the path to her home repaired.
Juliet Bravo, 37, moved into her house at Ivinson Road, Darwen, in December, and since then has struggled to get in and out of her home because of the bad state of her garden path.
Miss Bravo, who only has one leg, uses a disabled scooter and a wheelchair and says the path is so uneven that her scooter has nearly overturned on several occassions.
She said: "This has been going on ever since I moved in. I asked the council if they could repair the path and perhaps widen it to make it easier for me to get my scooter up and down it but nothing has happened. "It is so uneven that even the ambulance crews who come to my home have tripped on it, and I have fallen over when I have tried to walk down it. I've hurt my arm now as well from trying to manoeuvre my scooter on it.
"Every time I ring the council I get passed from department to department, but still nothing has happened. The path is a danger, but I have been waiting for more than four months for it to be fixed."
A spokesman for Blackburn with Darwen Council said that a council worker had been to Juliet's house to carry out a few improvements to the path and her request for path widening will be considered.
