MEMBERS of more than 20 women's organisation from Blackburn and Darwen heard about changes in the way health provision is organised.
Councillor Maureen Bateson, chairman of the Women's Forum, opened the get-together at the Women's Resource Centre in Blackburn by introducing Ken Foote, the director of social services at Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.
He spoke to the group about how the council works with the Primary Health Care Group, the body responsible for providing local health services in Blackburn. Mr Foote explained how he believed that the shift over to the Primary Care Group has had a positive affect on health services in the town.
Feedback on International Women's Week in early March was given also to the gathering.
The next meeting of the the Women's Forum is the annual general meeting on Monday, June 5 at 2pm.
