TRAVELLERS arriving yesterday at Blackburn railway station could be forgiven for thinking they had stepped into a time warp.

But the train passing through wasn't picking up passengers, it was just en-route to Carlisle.

The famous Blue Peter locomotive (pictured) pulled into sidings at Blackburn to take on water as it prepared to travel through the county. The engine, saved by viewers of the children's TV programme, is now run by enthusiasts.
