REGARDING your article 'Call for tough action on death spot road' (LET, April 14).
I cannot believe the statement by Hyndburn Council technical officer David Law that pelican crossings were expensive and there had to be a certain number of accidents before one could be built.
Is he seriously putting a price on life? Surely, danger to life should be taken very much into account before designs are finalised.
