THE workings of an historic steam engine were demonstrated at the weekend.
Bancroft Steam Museum, in Barnoldswick, held its first steaming day of the season.
Visitors to the museum, in Colne Road, watched as the engine, which has two cylinders named James and Mary Jane, was started up and run as it would have been when the mill were in operation.
They were also shown how the boiler was fired and watched demonstrations of the museum's four looms.
The steaming days will be held every three weeks until October with the next one on Sunday, May 14.
Jim Gill is pictured checking James before the steaming.
