LONGRIDGE Local History Society's are set to start their summer programme of events.
The first is an evening out to the County Museum's 2000 Exhibition in Stanley Street, Preston, on May 11 at 7.30pm.
Stephen Sartin will guide visitors around the museum. On May 21, members are invited to the Lancashire Local History Federation's Millennium History Fair, which is being held at the Lowther Pavilion, Lytham St Annes, from 10am to 4pm.
On June 29, there will be a day trip to Kendal. The coach will stop at he County Hotel, Carnforth, on the way home for tea. The cost of the tea is £6.50 and the coach fare is £5. Entrance to the museum is not included in the price. The coach for Kendal will leave from the Towneley Arms, Longridge, at 10.30am.
On July 20, there is an afternoon trip to Slaidburn. Everyone should meet up at the car park by the river at 2.30pm, prior to a guided tour of the heritage centre. Tea will be served at the centre, priced £2.50.
