A FILTER factory is under a new name following a £51million buyout.
The management team who bought Scapa's Filter Media site, which employs around 100 at Haslingden, has relaunched the business as Madison Filter.
Scapa Filter Media was previously known as P&S Filtration and was one of East Lancashire's longest established firms.
"Whilst taking great pride in our 200-year tradition and keen to build on its best features, we also wanted a fresh start with a memorable and easily recognisable name," said Richard Stephenson, who led the buyout team.
"We already have a world class business leading in many global niche markets and now we're investing significantly in new technology with an increased focus on innovative products."
Madison Filter encompasses the operations of the former Scapa Filter Media, Scapa National, Scandiafelt and United Wire and trades throughout the world.
It specialises in filters for industries including chemicals, food and water. The group employs more than 900 worldwide with operations in Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Southeast Asia and South America.
