CHILDREN are suspected of going on a wrecking spree in Darwen.
The rear window of a black cab was smashed in Sudellside Street. In Queen Street, a Daewoo Nexia had its windscreen and door damaged and the paintwork of a Vauxhall Astra was scratched.
A Vauxhall Nova window was smashed in Marton Walk and a Renault Laguna was targeted in Police Street. All the incidents took place overnight on Saturday.
Two youths were seen close to an Austin Montego which was damaged in Cotton Hall Street on Sunday morning. They were both white, one was aged about 11 and wearing a white tracksuit top. The other was about nine years old and wearing black clothes.
Detective Sergeant Chris Hughes, of Darwen CID, said: "We are keeping an open mind as to whether these incidents are related and would like to hear from anybody who may be able to help our inquiry."
