A BLACKBURN society has entered the BT Reading Challenge, with a chance to win a share of £100,000.
The Eastern Sangeet Society's project targets disadvantaged older and younger Asian communities who have had unhappy reading experiences or have poor reading skills.
The project aims to improve reading skills by teaching, rehearsing and performing music using reading programmes and combined literature.
The challenge is sponsored by BT and co-ordinated by the Campaign for Learning in partnership with the National Literacy Trust.
Awards will go to innovative and imaginative reading projects throughout the UK.
