I WAS shocked by the minute's silence at Oxford that everyone all over the country had observed to pay our respects to the 94 football fans who tragically died 11 years ago at Hillsbourgh.

Not because there was any disturbance of any kind -- we Burnley fans know how to pay our respects.

It was just that after 30 seconds of the minutes silence I glanced up and saw nearly 2,000 Burnley fans (far too many in my opinion) behind the goals looking out through an eight foot wire-meshed fence, the same fence that had killed those innocent fans.

Have the powers-that-be not learned anything? Until all these fences have been taken down the potential is there for it to happen again. Something must be done before it's too late and before more innocent lives are lost.
