I HAVE just returned home to Somerset after witnessing one of the worst Blackburn Rovers performances in a long time against Portsmouth!
If the board of Directors have not woken up to the fact by now they never will, that is the current squad of players are simply not good enough.
Without a major clear out in the summer, and the signing of at least two strikers who are capable of scoring 15-20 goals each a season, Rovers are destined to remain in the First Division for a considerable length of time.
At least Souness, unlike his predecessor, was not fooled by the performance and hasn't offered any lame excuse for the players. Unfortunately, for the time being at least, the fans are still stuck with the same bunch of 'rubber dinghy men'.
I just hope the board have some sort of long term strategy for getting the club back in the Premiership, because at the moment Blackburn Rovers are going nowhere.
