CORNISH funnyman Jethro appeared in Blackpool for the first time on Sunday (April 23) for a bit of old fashioned saucy stand-up comedy at the Opera House.
His gags may be creakingly old and his saucy anecdotes only shocking to vicars and maiden aunts, but the large, admittedly middle aged, audience seemed quite happy.
Watching him you may think alternative comedy had never happened.
But to be fair, despite it being part of the Bullocks to Europe tour, and appearing on stage bedecked with Union Jacks, the material was not racist and he avoided the outright nastiness of his fellow comedian and friend Jim Davidson.
Indeed it was mainly limited to the usual stock of "my wife is so ugly" jokes and other timeless "classics".
Supporting him were singing duo The Shannon Brothers who performed a a string of Sixties classics and cabaret style singer Raychel Harvey-Jones.
Hardly ground-breaking stuff then, but just what you would expect from a traditional British night out.
